New Forum topic
Posted by goodsptsed on Thursday, June 24, 2004 8:29 PM
After viewing the forums quite often I've noticed more and more topics about DCC. Maybe it's time for the forum managers to add DCC as a primary topic along with Layouts and layout building, Where's the 70th Anniversary car, etc. To me the trend is more and more toward DCC and it would help if there was a separate topic just for DCC. If that is not possible, then how about DCC and other control systems? Just a thought.

I wholeheartedly agree...I am one of those just embarking on a new layout after a 20 yr. hiatus and have (perhaps prematurely) purchased a DCC system before I have even designed the layout. I am very interested in the discussions on these systems.
Just love to watch the trains run.

You will certainly have my support as I am very interested in learning as much as possible before I get to far ahead on my layout[^]
It is always great to hear about somebody elses experiences, not just stuff out of books.

Either that, or have a sticky DCC topic in which people can post, that way it's always on top and people with questions can go through it for their answers before asking again.

I think it would be great. I have seen questions about DCC in in couple of the categories. This would definitely help centralize it.

I liked the Atlas forum's idea here- separate forums for HO, N, "other scales", and DCC.

I have mixed feelings about separate forums for different scales, partly because I am interested in both N & HO and partly because there is so much useful information that applies to all scales.

I do like the idea of a dedicated DCC forum since it is such a specific aspect of the hobby.

I agree with a different forum. My experience is although the Atlas DCC forum is good, quite often I get the feeling that they treat beginners as "i've been there, done that, here's your answer, now leave". Not always, but some posters leave that impression. A good forum for DCC for all levels would be good, and I'm ready to support it.
