MRC 3000GS question
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, June 7, 2004 10:22 PM
Hi, I bought an MRC 3000GS Tech II powerpack from Ebay. Great price only $7.00 I don't regret buying it, but this is an odd duck. It doesn't show up on their ads anywhere. What it is, is basically a TECH II with Speed dial, Brake, momentum, Direction etc, Pulse but no power. You must supply 14-19 VAC. Being a techie, this is no problem, I can build it. But what was MRC thinking when they marketed this ? Any insight ? Thanks, Dave

Considering most of us have probably never heard of it, it obviously wasn't a big seller. The only thing that makes any sense to me is that is was for club use with possible higher power demands. All MRC power packs are whimpy when compared to DCC power. Some how I suspect there was a demand for it from those with larger layouts running multiple units.
