Static flock grass question.

I'm appling Woodland Scenics flock grass on my layout, using an electonic applicator. Does the grass look better using individual colors or mixing them to get a more realistic look. I'm curently using medium green grass only.

I strongly encourage you to mix in some other colors, especially light browns.  Don't blend them too thoroughly, and you'll get slight tonal variations over a given area as you work.  Take a look at real grasses and you'll see that there's actually a lot of brown in it, most of the time, and it will be greener in some spots, browner in others.  Another thing I've done is to put regular green ground foam down first, to represent weeds and lower growth, and then applied the static grass over this.  My grass is much browner, and so you get the greens down lower, which looks more realistic.
