Posting photos on the Forum
Posted by Georgia Flash on Monday, August 31, 2009 3:32 PM

 Hey guys:

I need step-by-step, fail-safe instructions for posting photos here on the forum. I have already downloaded photos to my computer; then uploaded some to "Photobucket." Where to go from there?

Thanks,  "G' Flash"

hi Georgie

If you have pictures uploaded in photobucket; under "My Albums and upload" you find your pics.

Go with your cursor to the picture and some kind of a drop-out menu appears.

Go to the last one: IMG code, click L (it turns blue),  click R and Copy  (The picure is now in your mouse)

Go to a thread and click R and paste; done!!! You get a number only, after you have posted your posting the image appears.

 Full marks, Paul.  Cool

Yes, you must go to your gallery where all your various images appear to you and viewers.  Place your cursor over the intended image, and you will see a ghost drop-down menu at the bottom of the thumb.  Scroll down to the bottom option with the "img" tags, right click and copy.  Then come back here to your text box and simply paste it.   When you post, you'll get your photo to show.

I find it interesting that this is the only model forum I'm on that requires having an account with a third party.  Every other forum I'm on allows a poster to attach photos directly from your files on your own computer without having to transfer them to another outsider.  A lot simpler.

Hi Georgie,

For a variation of the above, my Photobucket pictures have a small square on the left, below the photo., and a rectangle below that. I click on the square and the rectangle, and then click on Edit in the tool bar at the top of the screen. I then click on "Copy".   Then go to the Trains.com forum thread, where you desire to place the photo, and click on "Reply",  After entering the desired Text, I then click on "enter", to move the cursor down a couple of lines.  Click on "ctrlV", and the lengthy code will appear.  Scroll down to Post, and click on it. Your Reply to a given thread,(or your new thread), will then appear at the end of the given Replies. with you photo at the bottom left. You can always Edit or Delete the Text or the Photo Bob Hahn

On your way back to the Trains.com/Forum, you may see your Edit on the screen, several times, if you make several Edits.   Keep going, until the Google blank appears, and you then type in Trains.com/Forums, to get back to your desired Thread.
