If you're going to be buying a lot of cork, it may be worth your while to buy a roll of sheet cork from a flooring supplier, then use a straightedge to cut your own strips. Something like this:

Just a suggestion. May be worth looking in to, depending on how much cork you need.

Good suggestions above. All I can add it that I've dealt with MB Klein before and their service is reliable.

BTW: I visit Vidalia regularly. The Georgia Central Railroad runs through the middle of town. The locomotive service shop is just a few miles east on the edge of Lyons. Local freight runs westbound at about 5:pm daily.  Ex-Norfolk and Western, and Southern high nosed units often run the line.  If you're railfanning, photograph them while you still can.   Wink

Model Train Stuff has bulk (25 or 100 pcs) well under $3.00 for Atlas Code 100

Hi!

I did my big order of track/roadbed from NHS Hobbies (www.nhshobbies) online, with a follow up order from Caboose Hobbies (also online) for additional stuff.  I did a lot of price checking, and earlier this year NHS was easily the best deal.

I suggest you gather up all the companies recommended on your posting here and check them out online, and go from there.

ENJOY,

Standard hobby supply has micro for $4.39 and Train World has atlas for $3.50, both reputable.

I purchase my Atlas Coade 83 flex track in the bulk pack (100) and cork roadbed from MB Klien a.k.a. Model Train Stuff.  I purchase via Internet/mail order.  Good price and great service.

Flextrack...cork roadbed on sale anwhere?

Really appreciate this forum. I am new to this area (between Vidalia and Dublin, Georgia). The nearest hobby shop is 115 miles away in Savannah.

Where can I purchase bulk amounts of flex-track and cork roadbed? Is $310/box of 100 3ft lengths of code 83 the standard cost? I would appreciate any leads on where I can safely and confidently purchase flex-track in bulk amounts.

Thanks,

Georgia "Flash"
