I know this might have been asked before but here goes. I have curved track that meet roads and need to grade. I know about using a paper guide over rail in oder to get the curves just not sure if I should use styrene or AMI instant Roadbed for the inside track . Have both just not sure which would be better. Anone use Instant Roadbed on thier layout?
Thanks Gary
Styrene. Instant Roadbed is just too gooy. Bar Mills also make curved laser cut wood crossings.

I´d say stay away from that sticky, gooey stuff - you won´t like the result at all. Either use thin styrene (sheet material) or even thin plywood or any ready made product - most of them really look good!
AMI instant roadbed has been out of business for several years. We had a roll of it at our HO club, and I found it to be practically useless for anything other than roadways. Eliminating the stickiness is very difficult. Several treatments with dry tile grout or cement were necessary before it could be made to look halfway acceptable.
