Hello Folks
My wife, bless her non-model railroading heart (he's out in the office playing with his trains), gave me the latest version of CadRail for my birthday - other that a REAL layout, probably the most fun you can have with a model railroad with your clothes on.
My problem is with spirals: Following suggestions from Russ Larson, the edges of my benchwork includes as few straight lines as possible, these having been replaced wherever possible with large-radius spirals and gentle curves.
My problem is breaking a spiral somewhere between its end points to add, for example, a peninsula for a wye. My assumption is that since I have not changed the path of the spiral at all, only removed a short length in the middle, I should be able to maintain the original path. Sometimes this seems to work and other times it doesn't - when I shorten the spiral with my edit tool sometimes I can't align it with the end point of the edge of my new peninsula.
Does anybody out there have any ideas about how to address this problem? I have looked for a forum specifically relating to CadRail, but with no luck.
Thanks in advance.
Warmest regardsBill
