I use a White Rain pump spray bottle for my matte medium. Works great. I think matte medium last longer than hair spray for keeping foliage in place.

Jarrell:

I use Aqua-Net on the trees I'm planting in the Tahoe National Forest, LOL!  and it works just fine for me.  Sprays fine, no odor and holds like SuperGlue.   For my Fall deciduous, I'm using the SuperTrees and fall mixtures.  No problems.

I think that Matte medium is a trifle more 'flexible', though, though I haven't used it.  But I know that people who have used it have very good results, despite occasional 'clogging' of the sprayer.

PS:  Wayne, those trees are just beautiful!  Bow

I used Finesse Unscented Extra Hold, in the pump sprayer - nice, fine mist, and you can dump the contents that the pick-up tube can't reach into the next container, so there's no waste.  The trees have been in place for a few years, and haven't lost their "leaves" yet - probably 'cause it's always summer on my layout. White Rain and AquaNet are the two I was thinking of...  Smile  Ok, thanks for the reply!

The El Cheapo hair spray I have used (White Rain) sprays in globs, too, even when new.  Once it dries, it doesn't matter.

The same applies to spraying Matte Medium -- once it dries, you can't tell it went on in globs unless you spray it on so heavy that it is dripping.

Matte Medium vs. El Cheapo Hairspray for Super Trees

The instructions that came with my Super Trees say to soak the 'trunks' in diluted matte medium for a while, apply the 'leaf' material and then spray with more matte medium to seal the deal.  I've done this and it works pretty good except for one itty bitty thing...... , the spray bottle.  It seems I can never find a bottle that emits a fine enough spray to suit me, and believe me... I've tried.  I'm careful to clean the nozzles after using but invariably they clog and spit out a course spray.  I'm thinking about using cheap hair spray for this step instead of the matte medium.  Anyone tried it and what was your result?
