Interesting not to see "2-inch foam stacking" in favor of a time-honored plywood base and cork roadbed!  The strength of the benchwork will never be a concern as a foundation for the scenery.

Very nice stuff indeed. You've been missed around here - your old layout photos were so much fun to view. Please please keep regular progress pictures coming. Your scenes always look so well thought out and set up. I'd love to watch new ones take shape from the ground up.

Bob, your images tell me that you have not deviated from your deliberate method and your eye for details and fit.  It all looks wonderful...like from a textbook.  Smile

Do I see the curved ME viaduct rising on about a 2-2.5% grade?  I looks nice and gentle.

I've often heard it said that " any progress is progress". Those ME viaducts sure are perty looking. I really need to get me one of them!

Do you have "a plan" after the track is in , or are you going with the "trial and error" route? All the bridges look great, and the enginehouse is pretty cool as well.

New Layout Progress Report (Pics)
Posted by Bob grech on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 8:55 PM

Hi folks:

Its been a while since my last post. So I thought some of you would like to see the progress i've made on my new layout. This is by far the biggest project I've ever started, and I'm a bit overwhelmed by its size. The mainline is now 80% complete, and the last of the "big" bridges installed.

This first pic shows my new Micro Engineering Tall Viaduct. The track radius is 26:

This next pics show bridges saved from my old layout:

These next pics show the Engine House (a scratch-built John Allen design) installed:

I hope you've enjoyed the tour.

Have Fun.... Bob.
