The only thing that comes to mind is very carefully use some debonder. You'll need to use extreme caution and not get it any where close to the pieces you have just glued. perhaps use a qqutip or some small aplicator.
I will use an Xacto chisel to carefully scrape away the CA. Minor paint touch up when painting those lift rings/ or details is all that's needed. Some slight weathering and you would never know. The trick is to secure those parts by glueing from inside the shell. A drop of CA applied w/ a toothpick or wire and blotting w/ a piece of paper towel will set the part in seconds w/o any glue showing on the painted exterior.
The Xacto chisel is also great for that stubborn paint on renumbering/ lettering. I will use a stone to keep the edge razor sharp, even slightly knocking off the corners so as not to gouge will scraping.

If you are talking plastic shells you find the CA will etch the plastic and is hard to hide. Paint and weathering may be your best bet.
is there anything I can do to remove little smudges of CA from gluing lift-rings and sunshades? Its not horrible... but i would very much like for the spots to be gone. My girlfriend was leary of me using goo-gone, because she thought that that might screw with the finishing on the engines.
So... help?
