Thanks for all the links.  They are working out to be very helpful to me and for my railroad.

Thanks for the reply,  I checked thru Amazon and ebay for this book.  Will keep looking, but at least you gave me a starting point.

You're looking for the September 2008 issue of MR. Uses a single pole single throw switch. I don't have the issues in front of me, but I don't remember if MR talked about wiring or not. They had an explanation in the text, I don't recall them having a diagram for wiring.

I am not sure if this book is still in print from Kalmbach but on page 52 of Basic Electricity and Electronics for Model Railroaders (1992 printing) shows a picture of exactly what you need. If you can find this book you'll be in luck.  I have not seen this book in a while but you might find it at a swap meet some where.

Manual Turnout Controls
Posted by washterm on Saturday, May 2, 2009 1:42 PM

I am trying to find plans or an article regarding building manual turnout control.  The type of control that uses a rod and an electrical slide switch so power can be rouoted to the turnout.  I think Model Railroader had an article on this years ago.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks
