Crandell

Yes,you are right,it is the built up motorised job.

The other version is on for £40.00-which is nearer the mark.

Hopefully they are going to re-work it and fix the few bugs left in it. Mine turned out OK. Couldn't afford the $250 one anyhow.

Heljan makes an 98' (14") manual one if your interested.

Steve, for that price it must be the indexed one. Shock  Although nothing about that place surprises me.

I've had this turntable at my old Westport.

I had made a manual actuation. But the turntable was not the best. You have to rework it to get a proper alignment.

Now I've the new 90' turntable and I'm satisfied.

No problem - I'll be more careful in the future.

Our long established practice has been to provide links to sites where we have no personal stake, or potentially so, John.  Your words suggested, by your use of the word "deal", that you were wanting compensation.  I agree that your offer was fine, but my caution was meant to stem any further discussion of a "deal" out in the open which I would then have to delete.

Just trying to be a good steward, that's all. Smile

Will do. However, I do not believe that offering to provide something that the OP wanted is any more a violation of the policies than giving him a link to a site that might have one for sale. I am not advertising the kit for sale - just offering to solve HIS problem.

John, please do this off-line so we don't run afoul of the policies for forum use.  Contact the OP via PM, please.

I have one of the kits (still in the original box). If you are in the U.S. we can probably strike a deal if you would like to have it (sorry, but I really don't want to mess with overseas shipment).

Harold, you will probably have to resort to ebay.  I just spent 10 minutes doing a search on my seven or eight favourite haunts and they all say not available.  Suggests to me that Walthers is not shipping them any more, probably because they eventually sold and there were problems with so many of those kits.  On the other hand, they can't keep any of the built-up models on the shelves....they get snapped up right away.

Edit- I continued, this time googling, and found this (maybe true) listing.  Worth checking out.

While breezing through modeltrainstuff.com, I found that they have the electric motor kit for it if you are interested.  You could probably get it reduced!

I just read that manufacturing of this item has been discontinued by Walthers.  Does anyone know if this is true?  Can't find one anywhere - all places I look at are carrying backorders.

There's never time to do it right, but always time to do it over.....
