You've certainly captured the "feel" of a junk yard.  Great modeling!

NittanyLion

That is the best looking road I have ever seen.

Thanks. I had a lot of trouble with roads. Nothing I tried looked right. I experimented a lot. Here's what I came up with: http://journals.fotki.com/DaveInTheHat/how-i-make-roads/

Thanks for posting the link to your road method. I second nittanylion, that is BY FAR the best looking road I've seen. I was planning on just using the walther's street system for my roads, but now I'm definitely going to try your method. The rest of the scene is impressive as well. Thanks!

Superb, Dave.

How did you do the raised lettering on the building?

To make the letters on the front of the building. I printed them out on paper, then, glued the paper to styrene and cut them out with an xacto knife. I glued small blocks of plastic on the back of the letters to make them stand off the building a little.

Um, can I have the old school rat rod from the first pic? No no, I don't mean that actual model, I mean the real life thing. Ok fiiiiiiiine, I'll suffice with the model. I love hot rods but I'm starting out in 50's, a little to early yet for the ultra shiny paint jobs and big wheels and huge tires, but that thing would look, I mean it does look just gorgeous. Basically (insert childish temper here) I want one! I want one! I want one! I want one! I want one!.................

Chopping the top was difficult, but they sure are fun to build. I guess this is as close to a hot rod as I'll be owning for a while too.

I chopped a coupe too. Here's me standing behind it. A little PhotoShop fun.

HOLY CRAP! That is just BEAUTIFUL!Bow Love the roadster.

Wait you made those?? Shock. Holy crap indeed!. But I saw no roadster there loathar. Just a very gorgeous Rat Rod from looks like an old Ford Tudor and a street rod, likes like an old Ford or Chevy, either way early 30's. Now my deal is I love them old school builds but even in my early 50's theme is too new for items like those. I mean they were definetly around, but still automotive customizing was still in it's infancy so true hot rods were rare. Now that rat rod would fit in no problems. You should throw in a nice truck, mid 50's Ford, '56 would be a good year. NO chopped top, lowered a bit in the front, some fat tires on the rear, oak bed floor with chrome center strips, frenched headligh....wait, this isn't real. Now what were we talking about? Oh yeah. Chrome grill, 15 inch chrome smoothies, a 302 with a 5-speed.......

 Dave,

Nothing short of incredible! If it looks that good in pictures I can only imagine how good it must look on your layout. I will say it would look a lot better on my layout but we both know that ain't never gonna happen........lol Very very nice work, your a real craftsmen. But you forgot one detail I didn't see any junkyard dogs.......lol

Just my 2 cents worth, I spent the rest on trains. If you choked a Smurf what color would he turn?
