Posting your personal AVATAR
Posted by HHPATH56 on Monday, March 9, 2009 11:03 PM

Now that you know how to Post a photo, you may desire to Post your own presonal AVATAR.               You choose a photo from the Host (eg. Photobucket). Click on the square and rectangle, (or on IMG),the same as you did with Posting a photo. You go to Edit and click on Copy.  Now go to any of the Trains,.com Forums. On the right side, you will see My Profile. Click on Update Profile.  Then, click on AV\ATAR in the work bar across the top.  Click on Browse, and  choose Computer, and then My Album as the source. Click on UPDATE.and the action circle will appear. It may take a while for the AVATAR photo to appear. I found that it was easier to use photos that had been downloaded in Pictures, and highlighted there, as the picture source.  Any of you find a better way to Post your personal AVATAR ? You can change the AVATAR photo easily. Bob

From your last post about the "how to" on Avatars, I wasn''t sure about the pic sizing with the new Forum software. I decided to change mine for a test. My new avatar was sized with no problem.

 Hi Tim,

Glad to hear that my directions were easy to follow. I wish more of the Posts and Replys had the picture AVATAR.  Did you use Photobucket as the Host ?  Did your set-up show four options, with IMG at the bottom, or was there the small square that put a blue border around your picture when you clicked on the rectangle and then went to Edit to Copy ?  Bob Hahn
