What video are you referring to? I'm very interested and want to see it.
One thing to keep in mind, though, is that Micro Engineering's weathered flextrack still comes with the shiny brown ties. The rail is weathered and looks great, but if you want to make it look realistic, you're going to have to paint the ties to take away their shiny sheen.
To join ME track with Walther/Shinohara turnouts or tracks I use Atlas N scale rail joiners.
Now if we are talking about rail profile, the Peco rail while a bit bigger is very close to ME profile. I would also use Atlas N scale joiners to mate the two brands.
By N scale joiners I mean the ones made specifically for N scale not those sold for both HO/N scales.

I am not sure what you mean by the size difference. Do you mean tie thickness? I use atlas track and Walthers/Shinohara turnouts and I have to place a shim under the turnouts to bring them up to the thicker flextrack ties. If the rails are different, then I don't know what you would do.

We are beginning work on the last major yard on our layout, and by far the largest. The recent MR Video showed Tony Koester using ME weathered track for his layout. Using weathered track would save us a lot of time and the tie spacing appeared to more accurate than the Peco code 83 track we have been using.
Recently we completed a bridge with some Walthers bridge track. We noticed a slight difference in size from Peco's track (British vs Japaneese?) with the Walthers being slightly bigger and we had to use Walthers rail joiners as the Peco ones did not fit.
Our question is, will there be the same problem with ME code 83? Since we want to continue to use Peco turnouts, if the sizes aren't the same, there will be too many joints requiring this small transition. We'd like to avoid that.
