Thanks for the input guys - I did find the layout (though not the book - yet). The plan was in a 70's Atlas book Nine N Scale Layouts & the layout was called Monopoly & Octopus. I did get it running after some major track maintenance the last couple of nights. My 4 year old is really thrilled we got it running so no its on to fixing some remote switch issues (I think the contacts may be corroded) & then on to scenery.
Thanks cuyama - Thats a GREAT resource! None of those sound familiar but thats not to say one of them isn't it - I need to dig some more here & find the darn thing:-)
You can use the Model Train Magazine Index, hosted on this very site, to search by size and scale of trackplan. Those parameters give four results in MR:http://index.mrmag.com/tm.exe?opt=T&len=4&wid=4&scaleto=N&proc=9&MAG=MR

Yeah I'm not real sure of the time frame, it was likely I bought it in the 70's or early 80's. I looked through some of the listings in the Model Railroader archives & nothing rang a bell. The unique thing about this plan was its size, simply a 4' X 4' square top with no cut-outs.
Arnold,
Most magazines will keep back issues of their magazines. If you know about the time when the issue with your layout came, it shouldn't be too hard to find it. I hope that you can find your layout, and good luck.
Peace
Hi Folks - I started building an N gauge layout years ago & I'm trying to locate the original magazine or book the layout was in. I've been searching around the house most of the morning & cant find it since moving last. The layout was 4' X 4' with a reversing section & several sidings. I believe ti was in Model Railroader or one of their track plan books. If this sounds familiar to anyone I'd deeply appreciate your input. If need be I can upload of photo of my trackage to maybe jog some memories.
Thanks In Advance!
