I used 'Titebond' to attach both Homabed and cork roadbed to my 1/2" subroadbed a number of years ago. Now, I might use the available latex calking. In any case, I would still use 1/2" wire brads to 'hold' the roadbed in place. I just tap them in so that the top 1/8" is still showing, and pull them about an hour later after the glue has set.

I have used Elmers wood glue for cork road bed on the B side of B/C plywood and it works well. My last layout has some sections that have lasted over 15 years.
I use push pins to hold down the roadbed overnight while the glue dries.
Enjoy

Cheap latex caulking is a good adhesive for both purposes. Sometimes Wal-mart or other stores have latex caulk for $1 per tube.
Latex caulking compound. Sticks well and stays slightly flexible. $3 or so for a whole caulking gun tube. You can use white glue (Elmers) or yellow carpenter's glue, but IMHO the caulk sticks better over time.

Hi!
What adhesive works best for fastening 1/8 inch sheet cork on smooth plywood? And, what adhesive works best for fastening standard HO cork roadbed to smooth plywood?
Obviously "best" is subjective, and to me means something that: spreads very easily, has a relatively short set up period, and stand the test of time.
Thank you,
