Draw the centerline of your plan on  your base.  Seperate the cork along the centerline that is pre-scored.  I like to adjust it a little so that the ends don't line up, makes a smother  base if the joints aren't together.  Lay one piece with the square side along the centerline, then lay the other section next to it.  It should follow the shape around the curves just fine.  As long as it is new I don't think you should have to soak it, that only be for some that has really dried out, however, if you have trouble with it breaking a good soak could be in order.

o.k. cork came in mail and i started nailing it down then i stoped at the turns 18 and 22s i heard that you wet or dip it in water, this is freash cork its not flaking or bone dry its kind moist but not wet at all. how do i bend it do i just bend it dry or wet it for a half hour or something btw its from model power thanks p.s. i have never been around cork.
