Track question

I have a 2 module layout in n scale that must be fully portable. I have encountered a problem in finding a way to make my track from both modules connect without making the track look really bad. I have not added scenery or ballast yet, but when I do, I don't want to see a big seam all the way across my layout. How should I construct this portion of the trackwork. If someone can point me in the right direction I's greatly appreciate it.

set the track 4.5" in from the edge of the module and when assembles drop a 9" section in to bridge the seam.

Cover your seam with a road or highway. Plastic or cardboard can be cut to fit and just placed in between the track and along the seams. Of course you would properly paint it with raod markings and all. Plus add some crossing gates and you have a nice section detail where before you had a seem.

I once read about a guy who had seperate segments for each part of his scenery all limited bij roads and buildings but without a standard size for each segment except for the maximum. When he set up his railroad, his roadbed was allready attached to the framework. After that he just placed his landscape right out of the box on his layout so there would be no regular cut or any vissible transistion. It looks really neat.
