Question on the new Atlas code 100 # 8 Turnouts.........
Posted by mobilman44 on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 3:39 PM

Hi,

I'm doing a rebuild of my 11x15 HO layout and am in the design phase, working on scale drawings.

My existing layout uses Atlas code 100 # 6 and # 4 turnouts, but the new one will use # 8s for the main, # 6s for secondary, and # 4s for sidings.  Unfortunately, I don't have any # 8 turnouts in hand, so my question to you is:

What is the distance (track center to track center) of two tangent tracks using two Atlas #8s for crossover purposes?

Thanks!

I do not have any in front of me, but I used Atlas RTS(version 8) and set up a LH crossover - it appears to be 2" center to center(like all other Atlas Custom Line products).
