I'm trying to post a picture.
comments are welcome. Just remember it's a layout in progress. the structures are there for planning purposes and trees are in the future. I can not seem to get the step process right. Is there a spot on the forum that explains the steps?thanks again.

Thanks to all that answered my post. I've been off the net for a few days, my doctors desided That I had a body part that I didn't need. Everythings OK now.I had no real plan when I started work on my layout. I attemped to protray the Colorado Rockies' probably the west slope.I desided I needed a reverse loop so that became the industrial area. Then there was no place for scenary so I made a mountain and put farms on it. My whole plan is to look at what I have and see if I want to fill in with something else. IT helps my confidence when someone else likes the results, thanks.

Your layout looks good, Lee, and I see that you've manage to post three pictures.
Since your photos are from photobucket, I've found the easiest way to post pictures is to first open the composition window here, for your Post or Reply, then open photobucket in another window or tab. Click on the picture which you wish to post: this will enlarge it. Click on the data in the box labelled "IMG CODE", beneath the picture: the data will turn blue. Next, click on "EDIT" in the Toolbar at the top of your screen, then click on "COPY". Returning here to the composition window, place the cursor where you want the picture to appear, then click on "EDIT" again, then "PASTE". The line of data will appear, which will show as the photo once you post your message. You can repeat this for as many photos as you wish, and intersperse text or captions between pictures. If you post multiple pictures, it's good to leave a space between each.

It may not be the same for everyone, but in my case, when I open my photobucket page and want to select an image there for posting here, I do as Wayne suggests at the outset...open a text box to reply, and then click on my favourites to find my photobucket account and open it. Once that page opens, all I have to do is to place my cursor over the bottom edge of the thumb, not the full-sized image, and a drop down menu appears below the image selected. The bottom option is the "img" tags option. Just click on it, and then navigate back to your blank text box here by backspacing. Right click in the text box, and your properly coded, URL will appear if you paste it. I then type my message after I do a hard return in front of the URL to drop it a paragraph spacing. Post, and you are done!

While Wayne's method will work, may I suggest another method. When I decide to Post a photo as either an original Post, or as part of a Reply, I first go the the Photobucket Album in which the photo is stored. When you click on the IMG option below the chosen photo (stored in some Photobucket album), the word "Copied" will appear momentarily. This means that the Photo is stored in the Word clipboard. Only one photo can be copied at a time (as far as I know ?) If the photo that you wish to Post is to be part of a Reply, you click on Reply and type in any desired text, in the box that appears below the message that you are Replying to. (Only the text can be Edited, later on). Click on the place where you desire for your picture to be placed. Click on "ctrl V" and the lengthy code for the photo will appear. After you have rechecked your text for "typos", you click on Post (only once, in the lower left corner) and your text and resized picture will appear at the end of the other previous posts. If you wish to Edit your Text, or add more pictures, Click on Edit (in the Tool bar above your text and photo.) and the Edit window will appear with your previous text and photo code.. The Post button will appear after a Tag, and Edit Notes boxes. Repeat the process for the addition of more Photos,(as you did!) Your pictures were fine, except you should use less light, in order to reduce reflection glare. Keep up the good work! Bob Hahn
Bob, you can also "Edit" the pictures, at least as far as removing them and/or replacing them with others. Simply delete the line of "img" data.
You can also edit (as in remove) pictures when quoting a previous poster who has included pictures in his post. Place the cursor on the photo, and click. The picture will be framed by a line, then hit the "DELETE" button on your keyboard.

I'm just using this thread to hone my "computer skills" As if I had any. My son installed a "new" Enternet Explorer today, Number 7. That was part of my problem with posting pictures, no tabs. Lets try with the new system.Yes, Yes. This works. Lee

Great looking layout. I am completely rebuilding my "N" scale layout. Most of it will be in flex track. The old turnouts are very old Atlas (10 to 15 years old) and I will discard all of them. I plan to use Peco turnouts and go to DCC.
My question at this point (there will be lots more) is should I use electro frog or insul frog turnouts? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?

Man you picked the wrong person to ask questions. I've only been in the hobby a little over a year. I don't know what makes a frog insulated (unless he's full of booze) I've been wanting to take one apart and try to find out. I used flex track and insulated frogs for my DCC system, everything works fine except sometimes the little SW8 gets dirty wheels and can hesitate on the frogs.
