Chip,
Well, glad that you are around. It sounds like great fun making MR a family thing. I know that Larry and I get more done when we are working on seperate projects in the train room.

Anything is possible if you do not know what you are talking about.

I still have the stuff and I keep promising I'll go, but I haven't since I took up Model Railroading.
I have an autistic son and well, I'm more comfortable with him playing with a DT400 than a .45 Long Colt.

Missed the keyboard, but I wonder how much longer the monitor will last!

You're assuming (and you know the dangers of that ) that all of us drink coffee here. I suck on sugar free Hershey's chocolate minatures and I've learned over the years that having that leave your mouth because of something I've read or seen on line is a very messy thing to clean up.

This massive forum threatens to turn me into jelly so I must exercise with lifting foam and glue this week.

I missed you too, Chip. I didn't remember having seen you since the arrival of this new--AND IMPROVED?--forum.

gear-jammer Chip, I had noticed that you weren't around as much. We will look forward to hearing more from you. Sue

Thanks,
I've been trying to check in more the last few days. So far it's just the Layout side of things.
Chuck you are half right. I have been working, but I found that spending long hours on a phone turns one to jelly and I needed an exercise program. So I have been playing whack-a-mole with a Titleist. I have managed to make my ops sessions though.
I have a long-standing obligation coming to a close next weekend and I have trackage rights so I am a couple weeks from breaking ground on the Rock Ridge and Train City II.
As for the 5 x 16, no matter what era or terrain, I would run a divider down the center giving you virtually a 30" x 37 ft shelf layout. There's a lot you can do in that space.
From the paucity of recent SpaceMouse posts, I rather suspect that Chip is deeply involved in the other aspects of his life - including the crass necessity of making a living in tough economic times.
Since my taste in layout design are individualistic, space-specific and heavily influenced by the practices of a non-North American prototype I can't say I am awaiting another layout contest with baited breath. When, as and if someone decides to have one I will stand on the sidelines and cheer if cheering is appropriate. I won't be jumping into the game.
