Need help with backdrops
Posted by UK78ALUM on Saturday, November 15, 2008 5:24 AM

Guys, I've lost a bookmark.  I had a webpage tagged but accidently erased the bookmark.

What I am looking for is the three piece (A,B,C) backdrop sets for mountains, specifically snow and mountains if possible in HO.

And while we're on the subject, the specs on these sheets said they have a slight overlap, so am I correct in assmuming that they go up like wallpaper?   First coat the board surface with wall sizing and let it dry, then apply the wallpaper paste, dampen the backdrop, apply it to the wood surface, sponge out the bubbles, etc., etc.  ????

I've put up miles of wallpaper, but never one of these backdrop sheets.

Thanks everyone!

Are you referring to www.backdropwarehouse.com? On their Index page you'll find installation instructions. They do install like wallpaper, but you're not supposed to use a water-based adhesive. The site lists several approved adhesives to use for installing the backdrops. I found a recommended clay based wallpaper paste at my local Ace Hardware.

May I recommend http://www.sceniking.com/ ?

They do a nice job and can even do custom work.  I mounted mine on foamcore using a spray adhesive and have been pleased with the results.
