Diesel facility questions
Posted by kasskaboose on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 9:09 PM

I thought to put this structure on my 1980s-era freight yard.  I have 7in between the track and backdrop.  The measurement of the sand tower is 7/8 x 1-1/4 x 7 inches.  How can I have it fit between two sets of track as is shown on the walthers web site: http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3182

If this isn't a suitable structure, what are others to use?

 TIA!

By the 1980's the sand would be delivered by trucks.  so you can lose the sand drying house if you want and keep just the bins and delivery system.

Check out this as an alternative:

I also have a layout set in the mid 1980s and this is what I plan to use when I finally begin construction of the diesel service facility.

There is also this, http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/147-5500, which is similar to above but might have a little more detail.
