I assume by "elevated track" you mean a layout that runs around the room near the ceiling, rather than something like the Chicago El.

The only problem I can foresee is that, depending on how high your elevated line is located, people may not be able to see the vignette in question! Building flats or other scenes in the corner might be interesting, as long as they'd be visible--try making a quickie diorama out of cardboard, put it in position and see how much you can actually view...one could make the ground transparent but that makes for a rather odd view.

The whole "elevated railroad" concept is pretty rare, really. Not a lot of people do it except for businesses that want to display a "trainset" layout in a place that is inaccessible to customers.

If it was an around-the-room layout at shoulder height, though, vignettes and scenes would be pretty much like building any other sort of shelf layout.

Elevated Track Vignettes

I am putting an elevated track in, and I was planning to put small vignettes in the corners of the room, for a bit more interest. I haven't been able to find any examples of this. Is it a bad idea, or am I looking in the wrong place for examples? BTW, this will be a G-scale set up.

Thanks!
