Map over Cheyenne yard in the 50's?
Posted by Lillen on Saturday, September 13, 2008 6:44 AM

Hi,

I've been considering an expansion on my layout which would roughly be 24*24 feet.

I'm considering devoting all or much of the lower level to Cheyenne Yard. Would that be an adequate space to get a decent representation of the yard? What should I concentrate on? The roundhouse is an obvious thing as well as the passenger station since I love passenger stations.

But most importantly, is there any maps over the yard. I got one in the book "Sherman Hill" but that shows the yard in the 70's so much would be different. Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks,

Magnus

Unless otherwise mentioned it's HO and about the 50's. Magnus

Try www.uphs.org (UP historical society), www.uprr.com (go to General Public section) and/or www.cheyennedepotmuseum.org - they may help you or direct you to someone who can.  (My father-in-law drove steam engines for the UP for about 40 years)
