nmra track spacing
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, March 13, 2004 1:52 PM
OK guys I need your help. Due to my job i have been away from the hobby for some time. I'm wanting to build my next layout to nmra standards. I'm wanting the outer track to conform the track standards for modular layouts. I do plan to the layout as a modular unit and in 2 X 4 foot sections. i have forgotten how close the track should to each other and the layout edge. If you guys could help i would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks and RUN EIGHT

check out John Armstrong's book Planning for Realistic Operation.

He has included a set of recommended standards for about every situation you can imagine for track spacing, radius, etc by gauge

I believe HO is 2 -1/2" on straightaways and 2 3/4" on curves dependent on equipment size

I assume you are modeling in N scale if you are talking about NMRA modular standards. In addition to the link provided by IRONROOSTER, here is a link to NTrak, the Modular Railroading Society, Inc.

There are also NMRA HO module ST&RPs as well. Don't assume just N.

I stand corrected! [D)] The standards & R.P.s for modules cover Z to Tinplate.
