Have you already tried http://www.xtrkcad.org/Wikka/BeginnerTutorial ?

It seems to cover things in more of a "by example" method.

Well I saw those but I was thinking more of a tutorial like let's build this I don't know 2x8 shelf or 4 x 8 something like that. Don't get me wrong I am learning albit a little slower than I want too.

Open XTrkCad.  Go to Help.  Pick the demos you want to learn from the menu.  That is how I learned in v4.0.2 running on WinXP, however, not Linux

Hello everyone,

Found the above program and installed it on my laptop; does anyone know if there is a tutorial available that might make the learning curve for the software a little less time consuming?
