Re-doing some land
Posted by robert sylvester on Monday, July 28, 2008 9:58 AM

I shared this with some others then I thought, maybe wrong forum. So I share it here. I had some land near my military base that needed a new look. I needed a maintanence area for my airplanes, so I cleared land.

The crew removed the old ground cover, then plastered the cracks

I painted the plaster a tan and prepared for dirt.

Piled high the heavy equipment went to work, To save money I collect fine gravel from parking lots where cars have driven over the gravel and turned it into a fine dust.  Then it is screened.

The the final layer was applied. Sprayed with ETOH and diluted white glue.

Since these pictures the new maintanence field has been renovated and completed.  If it is ok I'll put up more pictures.

Jamie:  Thank you for the response, I continue work on the new airfield with improvements.

Sometime working into the night.

Some of the equipment is big. Believe it or not I have bouth most of it at Wal-Mart.

Trains still move while the work moves forward.

Even have to put the battery boxes in place again.

Finally things are back in place.

These may be some repeats, tomorrow I start work on the tarmack and landing strip.

Fine looking sequence of pics. I love the imagination. The final scene is great as well. Thanks for taking the time to shoot these pics and sharing them with us.
