I got all the doors and windows cut and the roof and roof vent finished
Next step is painting
I got the Doors cut out and the trim is almost complete
I made some of the rafters today
I ran a string line to make sure they were all the correct height
I got all the window openings cut out
on one side wall
Art is making his own windows to more closely follow the proto type
in comparson to the largest engine house window by Grant line on the right
One of the things i like about Art's Engine house is it's mounted on a board that bolts to the
top of the layout so the base makes the building alot stronger and helps keep things square
I got the windows cut out on the ends and the doors installed on the end and sides
also got the windows drawn on the side and ready to cut
I trimed the inside of the door so now it is almost centered
This is an engine house for my friend Art who models the same area of the C&O
that i do
He saw my version of the engine house at Thurmond and liked it and ask me to do one for him
see this thread
http://cs.trains.com/forums/1321423/ShowPost.aspx
Art had his own drawings and his engine house will be larger than mine
however he first made a mock up and the walls were made of thicker material
so it threw the measurements off for using thinner board and batten material
If you look at the right side of the building walls you can see the extra over lap
I trimmed it off but it also throws the door way off center
I shoud be able to shave off a little on the inside of the door way's left side to compensate
I'm looking forward to cutting all those window openings
