More Trestle Questions
Posted by hwolf on Thursday, June 19, 2008 7:19 PM

1. Is Stripwood better and harder than Basswood? Height will have 7 Bents of 12'3" each

2. This is a curved Trestle. Do you spread the ties on the outside of the curve or make the top larger to accomodate the track?

Thanks in advance for your help.

A lot of stripwood is basswood. Balsa is also used and cuts nice but is a little soft for a trestle.

The ties are all slanted a little. If you use one of the flrx track bridge tracks, it all works nice. The ties are closer together than regular track and a little longer.

If you think you have it right, your standards are too low. my photos http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a235/ARTHILL/ Art
