DCC into N scale concor/rivarossi big boy

Hi
Would anyone have tips on this one. I seem to be having problmes with power pickup/shorts when on the tracks. Off track on a test rig its all fine.

Hi Andy;
Rivarossi is notorious for not putting enough power pickups on thier locomotives; add some more, Tomar makes some, see Walthers.
And many of thier motors are not very good, nor much of thier gears; NWSL has solutions for both of these ailments.
