Found another photo of the old layout, I had forgot about this other one. If you look really hard, you will notice the plywood where I had not finished the landscape yet. Like I said this was old school work years back.
I am tempted to see that shot as inspiration-- just staring at it in amazement.
My first structure for my layout is a DPM kit, and I am stretching my skills in an attempt to reach a high level of realism for the N-Scale model (this weekend's stage is the mortar wash for the brick walls). But the setting, the placement, the tress, the lighting that I am looking at in your picture puts my "ideal" in a new perspective. I have a long way to go.
How many structures, what scale, how large a footprint, was that sunlight?
