Bgardner,
To compensate for perhaps being too pedantic in my first response to you, may I suggest that you consider the 37' foot long, '40s era concrete highway bridge offered by Sylvan Scale Models
<http://www.isp.on.ca/sylvan>
as one of their structures. It's a cast resin kit, for $ 13.75 US, so there's still some work for you although, admittedly, it's not scratch building.

Hi;
Mainline Modeler had a multi issue series on the Huey Long bridge near New Orleans a few years back.

Search for { "truss bridge" +automobile } with any search engine, and you'll find more than you want.

For other kinds of bridges, change the word truss to something else.

Bgardner2,
To help us help you could you be a little more specific ? Do you want the primary actual material of the protoype bridge to be wood, concrete or steel ? How many lanes wide should it be ? How long does it need to be ? What era are you modeling ? Have you already used the Index of Magazines at this site to see what bridges can be found by doing a Keyword search ?

I am looking for automobile bridge ideas. I want to construct my own. Ihave built a truss bridge for my trains,36 inches long. Just would like some type of pattern to follow. Thanks.
