BLI PRR engine problems
Posted by ndbprr on Friday, January 30, 2004 9:11 AM
A number of people have indicated quality control problems exist on the BLI PRR T1, M1 and GG1 engines. Several people have reported that the T1 has stripped its universals in the drive train rendering it unpowered. The M1 has had missing wheel sets in the rear truck, total decoder failure requiring reprogramming or resetting involving removal of the tender shell. The GG1 has arrived with stripped gears in the dirve train. They are gorgeous engines but I would test run one at the dealer before taking delivery as a precaution. BLI has been very helpful in resolving the problems with individuals and best response is gotten by phoning them rather then E-mail is the concensus opinion. The bottom line is every PRR engine so far has had quality control problems of one sort or another.

Thanks guy!

Very good friend of mind just purchased a brand new BL GG1 from a train show just this past weekend. I e-mailed this topic to him. I'm sure he'll appreciate the info.

"I like my Pullman Standards & Budds in Stainless Steel flavors, thank you!"
