You might check the NTRAK website at www.ntrak.org  for info on NTRAK clubs in your area.  You could send an Email to Jim FitzGerald the President of NTRAK and the Editor of their Newsletter who may be able to give you info on non-NTRAk clubs in your area or individuals interested in N scale trains.

Reggie, I am in the same situation. There is only modular n-scale clubs around me, and thats ok but I enjoy operating sessions and I don't see this happening on the modules.

Instead of looking for an N only club consider an oportunity to just participate in any scale as you will learn many aspects of the hobby that will apply to you. I am attempting to get a round robin group going and so far have one guy that comes over to run my N-scale layout and we go to his place to run and work on his HO-scale layout. He is new to the hobby so he is learning more all the time and I hope I am having a possitive influence.

So get anybody involved that may be interested in the different aspects of layout building and operations. You may be surprised that you become a founder to a club. Also some of those modular guys have permanant home layouts and may be interested so you may have to become a part of a modular club first, but it could be a good thing.
