Thanks Locoworks. Long delays in email replies also apply to Tony's Trains! I'm still waiting for delivery details on a confirmed order placed early December '07! Has somebody knotted the wires so that the messages don't get through?

ahh yes, the digitrax website, updated annually i believe?  it really is poor in my oppinion. i got a reply to an email well over a year ago regarding duplex radio, i think it was the radio issue, it was ages ago, coming soon was the hope given to me, soon must mean something else in the states.  mind you they were going to have iraq sorted soon too, how many years ago?? so maybe digitrax are well on schedule?  ;-)

According to what I can see on the Digitrax site the DZ123 and the DZ125 are in stock and available.

I'm sure that with this new decoder coming out that you'll start seeing the plug and play decoders being updated as well.  But I wouldn't be trading in a plug and play for a DZ125.  But if you have an older engine that requires hard wiring the the DZ125 is a great way to go since it now has silent drive and BEMF not to mention how small it is now unless you need more the 2 functions then you will have to wait till Digitrax discontinues the DZ143 and brings out a DZ145.

Thanks, Mister Beasley. Is he 125 suitable for wiring in as against plugging in? I'm in N scale.

The DZ125 has an on-board plug for the Sound-Bug addition.  Digitrax is phasing out their 1x3 series decoders in favor of the 1x5 series, which gives a much easier upgrade path to sound, using their Sound Bug, of course.

I can't say much about availability, though.

Digitrax DZ123 & DZ125
Posted by SirPeter on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 4:47 AM

Can anyone clarify the situation regarding Digitrax's DZ123 & DZ125? Both my dealer and Digitrax inform me that the 123 is discontinued and is to be replaced by the 125. I get a confused email from Digitrax regarding the availability of the 125 and no answers from my dealer who has had my order for some while! Are DZ125s readily available? This is my first entry into DCC and I'm not overly impressed to date!

My 'local dealer' is well known in the States and has supplied all my needs to date. I'm based in the UK.

Thanks for any information you can give me.
