installing decoders

I installed a NCE p2ksr decoder in a brand new ALCO S3 from proto, and now the body won't fit all the way down, I can get the screews to start but the body is up a little high, any idas. thanks

Hi Vince;

The NCE P2KSR is too big to fit in a S3. See: http://www.ncedcc.com/catalog1.html

Give Tony's a call for a specfic recommendation, and put the P2KSR in a GP or SD unit; as suggested by NCE.

I went to my hobbie shop and the train guy was out so i bought what looked close, it works but won't fit, you know how you get when you get something new you can't wait to give it a go. I'll find the right one ,just thought i did something wrong. thanks for the info.

I would suggest a Digitrax DZ123, it is one of the three smallest decoders currently available and has plenty of current capacity for your S3.
