Posted by C&O Fan on Friday, January 4, 2008 5:39 PM

When my engine house is done i'd like to put some furniture in the office

Maybe a desk and some chairs not sure what else would have been used

Is there someone who makes this stuff

or will i have to make my own ?

Thanks Loathar

I've never done a metal kit before

I was hoping to find a already assembled desk

I guess i'm just tired from gluing all those studs in place

Most of the SS Ltd. furniture isn't so much a "kit" as a casting: some require gluing one bit to another but, but many are just one-piece castings that just need a little paint.

Here is another suggestion.  Not a huge selection but some neat stuff just the same.

www.greenwayproducts.com/a_clutter.shtml

Greenway products, scenery details

Good luck

Just how particular do you want to be with the furnishings? If you are only to view items through windows or an open door, you may just build them from wood blocks or styrene. Once painted and papers and such are scattered about on a desk and bullitin board, file cabinet, it would be quite convincing. If your doing real craftman type work with removable roof for display purposes, then the actual modeled furiture would be the route to go. The toughest thing to model would be an office chair though.

Yeah, I think when they say "kit" it means you get the whole interior without having to order 30 different part #'s.
That Greenway stuff is real nice too. I saw some at a show a while back.(nice people too)

Model Power and Busch (and I think Preiser) make office interior sets. Busch now even makes "modern" office desks with computer monitors that have a blue glow.

I found a 1946 map of the thurmond area so i reduced it 400%

Can't believe my printer printed it

And you can actually read the names with a magnifying glass

I'm going to use it as a wall map

It's about the size of a postage stamp

I like the first area combined with some neutral and modern type items available at Bed, Bath and Beyond, Pier One and Big Lots - I am serious. You can score some cool stuff at a low price for decorating and it will look sophisticated.  Thanks for the details Kurapika. Great site!!! I just purchase a couple of these bean bag chairs in your site and my kids love it.

Another great source is your local doll house builders supply place. Have one near me, and the furniture that is used in the doll houses' doll house is just about perfect for HO. Yes that is right, they make furniture for the doll house family's kids doll house. Everything from Christmas Trees with decorations to beds, tables, chairs (of all types), ranges, fireplaces, toilets, bathtubs, you name they got it. Great for detailing houses and offices.

Not exactly real furniture, but I print pictures and glue to a piece of cardstock.
