Depends which switch machines you use and what the linkage looks like.
The ideal is to prewire as much as possible on the work bench, have a good universal linkage http://www.easternmountainmodels.com/eng/html/turnout_controls.html adjust once and forget about it!
Sorry for the shameless plug[;)][:)].
BTW I developed our linkages because I was very frustrated by what was available on the market! There had to be a better way!

Being old is when you didn't loose it, it's that you just can't remember where you put it.

Tommy;

They are the same to install as anyother turnout. You didn't mention a brand; write off the top of my head I can think of several suppliers of code 83 turnouts: Atlas, Walthers(Shinohara make these), Roco, Micro-Engineering,.......and there are others.

"Are they good to use?" Assuming HO scale, yes as long as you don't have any locomotives or rolling stock with flanges much deeper than RP25.
Nigel N&W in HO scale, 1950 - 1955 (..and some a bit newer too) Now in San Jose, California

I am using Code 83 Turnouts with switch. Are these fairly simple to install? And are the good to use?
