Layout help for Fastrack
Posted by coldstorage5 on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 12:22 PM

Hi,

I have a pennsylvania flyer set ( Yes Im a rook) and  a circa 1981 set.  I really want to put together a multi loop set, using my Flyer track and another new track. My thinking is that I could put a 36 loop inside a 48 loop, like this one :

An 4 by 8 piece of wood would be best for me now,  Money is tight and i want to make sure I buy the correct switches.  I know people are busy... a little help would be very appreciated.

This looks like a good way to start out my layout. Can you please help me with the switches, and any advice???

Thanx,

CS

You probably want to ask this on the Classic Toy Trains forum on this site.  The folks who do mostly 3 rail O hang out there.  And there's a lot more expertise with Lionel Fastrack there.

The suggestion to try the the other forum is a good one.

I will say however, the logic behind if I think I will get bored with one loop, it will take twice as long to get bored with two loops is flawed. Instead stick with your original loop until you find out how trains operate. Explore some options for your space and likely, you will find how others have solved the issues you are going through. You will have saved time and money.
