Atlas Signal System

I have installed over twenty five signals on my layout which is Digitrax DCC controlled. No problems at all with the system. It is completely independent from the DCC side of things. Also I used the NCE BD-20 for block detection instead of the Atlas unit. The Atlas unit says DC only but several people I have talked with use it in a DCC environment, but with limited success. Also the BD-20 has an ouptput which can light up an LED or control other devices if required. I have not looked into the Atlas SBC board to see all the variations of output, but there seem to be several options. Also look at the article in Model Railroad news that Phil Pascanudra and my self co authored several months ago (Oct issue to be exact). The only limiting factors that I have read about is the lack of a single searchlight type signal. Hopefully Atlas is addressing this problem and something will be available next year.

Do you use a block detector?  I understand that the one that comes with the kit only works on DC.

I have 2 siginals working on my DCC N scale layout and they seem to work just fine.Wired it just like the book says. I have heard of people saying they won,t work on DCC and have posted a "why not" but never received a reply. Try it with jumpers for a test and let us know if it works for you.

Has anyone used the new Atlas HO Signal System on a DCC layout?   It looks like a fairly simple system to use but the complete packages appear to be for DC only.  How would you configure it to work on DCC?
