Is there a free source of loco sound samples?
Posted by Fawlty Logic on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 2:39 AM

Has anyone any information about a free downloadable archive of sound samples of locos?  I would be looking for as large (lengthy) samples as possible to avoid obvious repetition in a loop as much as possible, rather than sound effects clips measured in seconds.

Oh, I see now there are some commercial suppliers of audio cassettes.  Are there any particularly good suppliers of CDs with good long sound samples of locos?

Fierce-throated beauty! Roll through my chant, with all thy lawless music! thy swinging lamps at night.

Do a Google for "train sounds". There's a bunch of sites. I did the same thing a while back and could play them on my computer in the train room.

There is a good idea!  Google!

Once you have the sounds you might want to try AirHorn from Brinston Sound Images?
