Problems with DS64 and Tortoise Slow Motion

Well everything was going great, I programed the DS64 stationary decoder with no problems, hooked up the tortoise slow motion to it with no problems as well. I tested it out a couple of times and it worked great. I went back to test it out again and it did not respond. I decided to reprogram the DS64 again and everything worked fine and 5 minutes later the switching became erratic and then it stoped working all together again. I followed all the programming in the instructions for the DS64 fine, hooked up to TrkA and TrkB and connected the Loconet cable to my DT Zepher. Is it me or is it a hardware malfunction that is causing things not to work? I have DT Zepher Starter set, N-Scale layout.
