N scale layouts

I live in an apartment and would like to build a layout ,but have no room for one.
I am thinking of building a layout in a coffee table. Can anyone suggest a layout plan that would work?

This website(http://www.naisp.net/users/mfischer/m_train2.htm)has some great small trakc plans. I was thinking of doing a small N sclae layout myself to experiment with a smaller scale(i usually work in HO). Good luck with the project!!

If you are really confined to a coffee table size, have you considered Z scale. It's amazing what can be done, and I understand more North American models are becoming available. An alternative is to use N scale, in narrow guage, by using Z track and N scale narrow guage equipment. Either way, you get more railroad per square foot.

Find MR, Dec 1970 and the complete 1971 volume and have at it.
