Turnouts
Posted by RCSR on Monday, October 8, 2007 12:08 PM
Hi-

I'm using micro-engineering code 55 #6 turnouts in a new HOn3 layout and I'm wondering if there are special wiring techniques I need to employ with these for dcc operation-

Thanks, RCSR

RCSR,

Check out Allan Gartner's Web Site - the best source for DCC wiring information.  Here is his Micro Engineering turnout section.

Good Luck,

I'll make it easy for you. NO. I wired my DCC layout with standard power routing turnouts from Peco. The insulated frog ones, but metal frogs work fine too with DCC. "DCC ready" turnouts mean non-power routing (power routed to all routes all the time), but power routing, even with DCC comes in handy.
