You're welcome!  I'm just glad to hear that my advice and hunch was right and corrected the problem.

I've rarely had a problem with an NCE decoder, so I always look for another cause when someone is having trouble with one of them.

Hi: After close inspection of the solder joints, found that one of "FO" pads on the decoder board did indeed have a cold solder joint. Thanks for putting me in this direction.

It sounds like you have a bad solder joint or broken wire in the backup light.

LED flicker on NCE decoders
Posted by herons on Sunday, October 7, 2007 4:04 PM
Hi: I have been using the NCE SW9SR decoders on my proto 2000 sw8 locos and have developed a rear light flicker. I have cleaned the wheels, cleaned the brass pickup,nd everything else. Any thoughts on what next.
