If there is continuous rail or soldered joints between the feeders, 6 feet. If not, then as needed to ensure you aren't relying on unsoldered joints to carry the signal.
Your mileage may vary, on approved credit, void where prohibited by law, etc.

I think Loys recommends every 6 feet, some people use every 4, Check out there web site ot Tony's Exchange site, lots of useful info

In a DCC system without blocks, how often should the feeders be spaced.
