I have no interest in being politically or ptototypically correct and am prepared to run any trains I like, so there. I have down about 65 M of G or # 1 gauge and run strictly LGB MTS system, my big mallet loco is so strong with such tremeendous traction it can pull 4 litres of white wine up a 5 % gradient. I also have a small Stainz loco as well as the LCE and they all are aimed at pulling passenger rolling stock. But I can tell you I would really love to own a big American western style Mogul and matching coaches and I will one day when my accountant (wife) releases the funds.

Our house is unusual in that it doesn't have any back yard mearly a series of courtyards which I have dubbed areas 1, 2 , 3 and 4. We started with area 2 and here we have about 40 m right around our pool, entertainment area and barby. It is a great joy to us to have night runnings in conjunction with a barby and have neighbours over and get slowly sozzled watcxhing the spectical of the little windiw lit and rushing through the night.and the reflections in the pool are to die for.

We have recently finnished area 1, which is set in an oriental theme with quarts and other ineresting stones and plants forming a Japanese type area complete with a huge statue of Buda overseeing the whole thing and a 1 M high mulitiered pagoda which houses all the electronics., as this rea is a large reversing loop. This area also contains many other oriental things such as lanterns, an oriental bridge etc all in creams and terra cotta's.

Our next project will be area 3 which will be our main and most technical area and will take about 70 M track. It will be a double flopped type dogs bone and will be set around the dramatic and nearby Glasshouse Mountains with at lest two near prototypical mountains Mount Beerburrum and Mount Gnugnu. I have a guy near here who will build them for me in ferro cement, he specialises in these things. Near Mount Berburrum is a place called Beerwah, which of course is where Steve Erwin lives and where his Australian Zoo is located and I'm going to get a carictature of him and hid Zoo done roughly very roughly to scale.

These areas wil all be connected up to each other indeed area 1 is only an adjunct to area 2 at this time; hence the need for rmotely conntrolled MTS type of controls.

This area where we are is called The Sunshine Coast and is on the Coral Sea and only about 300 Km from the Tropic of Cancer, so it is summer just about all year round. My home is on Kawana Island and this an island in the Mooloola River and I am interested if anyone has had experience in running trains outdoors on an island in the tropics.

Love to hear if anyone can give me any ideas;

Regards

Ian
