I have been mixing Euro and US equipment for sometime. The only things that had to be done was to change the couplers to one standard. I use Kadee. Of cause you will have to do some cutting to make them fit (older Euro euipment) but it is worth it. And painting over the US equipment to either black, red brown, blue or green. In addition, Painting over the road names on the locomotive power. Having the opportunity to travel I have seen mixed equipment being used in real life. If you want to you can cut the buffers off the Euro equipment and use Kadee #5 couplers. I have a mixture of equipment which includes the above mentioned plus Japanese and Chinese equipment.
